Winter Trip 2018: Part 7

It was the final day of 2017. And we were going to see street art.

I have previously talked about the great walking tour company London Walks. We try to take a tour every time we are in London. This time, we were leaving zone 1 to head into Shoreditch and Brick Lane.

We were not disappointed in the tour. What an incredible area for art! I learned many new artists including Nathan Bowen with his officers, Thierry Noir’s colorful people, and much more. My new favorites are Shok-1 with these incredible X-Ray images and Osch’s subversive stencils. In addition to these works, we saw two Banksys, which is always a treat.

We ended with a brief romp through Brick Lane, an area that I really want to get back to. The street signs are both in English and Bengali, which is so cool. Years ago, we got Indian food in the area but haven’t returned. I hoped we could return on this trip but time got away from us. Next time!

That evening, we welcomed 2018 at a 1920s themed party in St. Pancreas Station. It was probably the perfect New Year’s party for me. 1920s music and champagne with friends and family! What else could one ask for!

That’s all for now!
