It’s been a few weeks since I’ve last posted my adventures with snacks and cookies so here’s a review of two different Oreo flavors for your consumption.
Name: Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Oreos
Point of Sale: Jewel
I love peanut butter and I love chocolate. So this was a bit of an easy one for me. Peanut + chocolate? Yes please. I’m not sure about the pie aspect of it. The Oreo cookie part is probably supposed to be the graham cracker crust but didn’t do much for me. It tasted more in the realm of NuttyButter treats more than pie.
Name: Birthday Cake Oreo
Point of Sale: Target
I’ve been eyeing this one for awhile since I do love the taste of cheap cake from the supermarket. Mmm…sugary icing. Fancy buttercream frosting is not my jam. The whiff of butter is evidence just by opening the package. At worst, I expected these to taste like regular Oreos but with sprinkles in them. But this one actually worked. It has the creaminess of birthday cake frosting. It lives up to its name! I think this is my second favorite flavor after the Fireworks Oreos (the ones with popping rocks). A colleague said it right – when Oreo goes to adjacent snacks, it works out. It’s when they stretch into the realm of soda pop and whatnot that things get hairy.
